2021 FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP ANIMAL PROJECT

Now accepting applications - deadline is June 4, 2021

The Santa Maria Fairpark Foundation invites all active 4-H, FFA, Grange and Independent participants to apply for this year’s Foundation Scholarship Animal Project.   Applications are due June 4, 2021.  Download the 2021 application.

MULTIPLE SCHOLARSHIPS IN 2021

For the second consecutive year, the Santa Maria Fairpark, in accordance with precautionary health measures, was forced to cancel the Santa Barbara County Fair. Our Foundation acknowledges that this decision has a significant financial impact on the community as well as junior livestock exhibitors. In response, the Santa Maria Fairpark Foundation has restructured the 2021 Scholarship Animal Project to address the unique circumstances this year.  Rather than select one recipient to raise and show the Foundation Animal, the Foundation will award multiple scholarships in an effort to help more local youth in our community. The Foundation will award a total of $5,000 split into $500 and $1,000 scholarships. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the Foundation’s Selection Committee.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicant is a junior or senior in high school during the 2020/21 school year.

  • Applicant had a registered animal (large livestock only – beef, swine, sheep and goats) and was eligible to exhibit at the Santa Barbara County Fair Junior Livestock Auction in one of the following years: 2019, 2020, or 2021.

  • Applicant must submit the scholarship application by Friday, June 4, 2021 at 5pm.
