MEET ASHLIE ANDRADE, NIPOMO 4-H
2019 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
Congratulations to our 2019 Foundation scholarship recipient Ashlie Andrade! Ashlie recently graduated from Nipomo High School, Class of 2019, with honors, and was named Salutatorian. She has been accepted to UCLA where she will study political science and environmental sustainability policy with long-term aspirations of becoming an agricultural lawyer for the State's Department of Agriculture. We are proud to have Ashlie raise and sell this year's Foundation Scholarship Animal.
The Foundation Scholarship Animal, raised by Ashlie Andrade, will be the last to be auctioned before the Championship Drive at the Junior Livestock Auction on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Everyone has the opportunity to bid on the scholarship animal which is a fundraiser for the Foundation. Bids start at $50 per pound and go down to $1 per pound. The Foundation Scholarship Animal will be processed and donated to the local food bank. If you're not a buyer, you can still donate to the Scholarship Animal.
THE MORE YOU BID, THE MORE ASHLIE RECEIVES IN SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS!!!
As the scholarship recipient, Ashlie is guaranteed to receive a $3,000 college scholarship and a $2,500 cash prize, regardless of how much is raised by the sale of the animal. But, the more you bid, the more Ashlie receives in scholarship funds. Should the proceeds from the sale of the scholarship animal exceed $55,000, Ashlie will receive 10% of the proceeds in excess of $55,000 in the form of additional scholarship funds.
