Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the Santa Maria Fairpark Foundation is comprised of all volunteers representing different business backgrounds and geographic areas. The Board of Directors meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Santa Maria Fairpark's Administration Building.
Becky is the wife of Jake Barks and the mother of 3 wonderful kids. She is actively involved in many youth-oriented organizations such as Elks Queen contest, Nipomo Football and Nipomo Ag Friends at Nipomo High School. has a very successful pampered chef business and has been a part of the Strawberry Festival and Fair as a vendor. Her kids currently show livestock at the Fair.
1st Vice President
Angel and her husband, Tyson, are the owners of Cannon Showpigs located in Cuyama. They breed and raise champion quality showpigs on their family farm. Angel is very involved with local youth and their animal projects. She also works as the Executive Director of the Cuyama Valley Recreation District.
2nd Vice President
Shawn was born and raised in the Santa Maria Valley. She is the Owner of the Garey Store and Deli. She and her husband have two grown daughters who attended local schools. Over the years, Shawn has been very involved in the local 4-H Cinco Campanas, Righetti FFA and Blockman School PTA. She has a passion for the 4-H community.
Ken is a 4th generation Santa Ynez Valley resident and owner of Nielsen's Building Materials in Solvang. Ken grew up showing at the Fair and is the Beef Leader for Lucky Clover 4-H. Ken is active in may business and volunteer organizations including Solvang Rotary, Danish Brotherhood, and others. He was honored for his commitment to bettering when selected as Santa Ynez Valley Man of the Year in 2015.
Katy was born and raised here on the Central Coast and has been an active member of 4-H and FFA with Cinco Campanas 4-H and Righetti FFA. She is married to Matt and a mom of three kids. She’s the owner of Sugar Bean Wreath Company. She is active with Nipomo Ag Friends and is a leader for Cinco Campanas 4-H through which her children currently show hogs at the Santa Barbara County Fair and are involved in several projects. Katy enjoys being active in and a service to the community.
Kari is the 5th generation of Campbell’s living and working in Lompoc. Her love for agriculture came from growing up on the family ranch and showing animals at the Santa Barbara County Fair. Kari has been active in the local chapter of California Women for Agriculture for over a decade. She is also the former Chair of the County's Agricultural Advisory Committee and a former board member of the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau. Kari is the CFO of Campbell Ranches.
Dayna was born and raised in Nipomo on her family’s farm. She is an AGHS alumni where she was on a state champion livestock judging team, was FFA chapter president, and received her American Farmer degree. Dayna has spent a lot of time at the SBCF showing animals herself and now watching her children raise animals for the fair. Dayna and her husband Chris live at Bien Nacido Vineyards where they have raised their four children. Dayna has been actively involved in Blochman PTA, Cinco Campanas 4-H, Righetti FFA and the Santa Maria Valley wine community.
Allan grew up showing at the Santa Barbara County Fair from ages 9 to 19. He passed that tradition onto his children who also showed at the Fair for 9 years. Allan is the former Goat Leader and Leadership Leader for Lucky Clover 4-H. He is active on the Santa Ynez Valley Foundation Board, Solvang Rotary, 4-H Four Leaf Clover Foundation and others.
Kathy and her husband Rocco raise commercial Angus cattle in Los Olivos. Kathy's Fair roots run deep. She showed in her youth, as did her two children and now her four grandchildren. Kathy is also the long-standing weigh master for the beef barn as well as an auction buyer. Kathy is a past Secretary for the Santa Barbara County Cattle Women's Association and was awarded "Cowbelle of the Year". She and her husband received the Directors Choice Award from the Fairpak in 2016.
Corey is a long-time Santa Maria/Orcutt area resident and is a proud Santa Maria High School alummi. She grew up showing hogs and steers at the Fair and was a member of the very first Santa Barbara County Fair Junior Fair Board. She is now the mother of twin girls who are active in 4-H. Corey is currently the Co-coordinator for the Mini Member day and credits showing small stock for building her children's confidence and knowledge of animals.
