Sadie Veino, Nipomo FFA

$1,000 SCHOLARSHIP IN 2021

​

Sadie has raised and shown pigs at the Santa Barbara County Fair for the last 7 years.  She is active in Nipomo FFA as a member of the Leadership Team and participates in public speaking, judging teams, and Swine Entrepreneurship Proficiency.  She is a past member of Nipomo Foothill 4-H where she served as the club’s Recording Secretary, Junior Leader for horse showmanship and Junior Leader for flower arranging.  She has also received the club’s President’s Award for the last four consecutive years recognizing her for performing 100+ hours of community service each year.  In June 2021, Sadie was named Champion FFA Showman and the Reserve FFA Champion Market Hog at the Central Coast Classic.

 

In addition to her studies and passion for breeding and raising hogs, Sadie has a love of musical theater.  She has been a part of countless productions for the Mesa Middle School Drama Club and Nipomo HS Theater Company.  Sadie can also be seen performing the National Anthem at community events including the PBR at the SBCF, the Elks Rodeo, the California Youth Expo, the Santa Maria Fairpark Foundation Ag Awards Dinner, and, most recently, The Audible Swine Show in Sparks, NV.

 

Sadie has just begun her junior year at Nipomo High School.  Upon graduation in 2023, Sadie plans to attend a four-year university and is exploring a career as a swine breeder.
